For more than 100 years, Graciano has been entrusted with the restoration of structures that define cities and communities. The work spans masonry and concrete restoration, historic preservation, facade rehabilitation, cleaning, and waterproofing, across projects ranging from single-building assignments to multi-year landmark programs.

Rockefeller Center

Landmark Restoration
Midtown Manhattan, New York City, NY

Historic restoration and exterior cleaning of over 2.5 million square feet of Indiana limestone building facade across the Rockefeller Center complex. The scope included cleaning, pointing, marble replacement, patching, dutchman installation, bronze work restoration, storm windows, bird netting, and lead caps on all architectural features. Much of the work was performed at night to avoid disrupting commerce at the active site.

Belvedere Castle

Central Park, New York City, NY

Commissioned by the Central Park Conservancy, Graciano restored Belvedere Castle from bedrock to rooftop over a 16-month project. The scope included historic masonry restoration, mechanical and utilities upgrades, installation of a state-of-the-art geothermal system, and interior construction, all while preserving the castle's historic character. Graciano matched and incorporated approximately 1,500 bluestone and granite Dutchman throughout the structure. The project received the New York Landmarks Conservancy Lucy G. Moses Award.

Masonry and concrete restoration of Frank Lloyd Wright's landmark residence for the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy. Scope of work included masonry restoration, masonry grouting, masonry repointing, concrete repairs, coping resetting with new through-wall flashings, coating repairs, and roofing repairs.

Oyster Bar at Grand Central Terminal

Guastavino Tile
Midtown Manhattan, New York City, NY

Tile-by-tile inspection and restoration of the 13,000-square-foot Guastavino tile vault installation at New York City's oldest continuously operating restaurant. Graciano performed cleaning, repointing, patching, and crack repairs, and removed and reset 1,300 square feet of terra cotta tile, replacing deteriorated sections with newly fabricated architecturally correct tile.

90 Church Street

Historic Facade Restoration
Downtown Manhattan, New York City, NY

Complete exterior restoration of a 1935 Federalist-style landmark limestone building in Lower Manhattan in 1994, following strict historic landmark guidelines. Graciano returned in 2002 to repair damage caused by the September 11th disaster, when falling debris from the adjacent Seven World Trade Center damaged the building's facade.

Staple Bend Tunnel

National Historic Site
Near Johnstown, PA (Allegheny Portage Railroad NHS)

Portal restoration of the first railroad tunnel in the United States, built in 1833, for the National Park Service. Graciano restored both sandstone portals by cleaning, patching with Jahn repair mortar, resetting displaced stone, and installing Dutchman to the cap stone. New sandstone retaining walls were also constructed. The project earned the IMI Golden Trowel Award Special Recognition.
